"I'm going to Tulum tomorrow. Do you want to join?"
— Patricia, 2021
— January 4, 2021, 2am at Breathless resort in Cancun —
After celebrating the New Year with her fam, Patricia was enjoying her last night before leaving to Tulum with her brother, Jeff — she had a choice to make. Turn Left, to bed. Or turn right, to the beach. She went right.
That's where Jamall was — sprawled on a cabana with his flag football team and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. By sunrise, Patricia had invited him and his friend, Hans, to keep the trip going. He said no. Then he remembered he works remotely. He called back: "Were you serious about Tulum, or was that the tequila talking?" Yes to both.
It was the best decision either of us ever made. Beach parties, jungle nights, yacht trips, bonfires — and Covid. Ten days of quarantine in New York later, Jamall called again: "Were you serious about that spare bedroom in Austin?" Yes again.
A heroes' welcome — brunch, BBQ, tacos, dim sum. Then Winter Storm Uri hit and trapped us inside for four days while four million Texans lost power. Somewhere in there, this stopped being a fling. What followed: New Orleans, Bermuda, NYC, Puerto Rico, Tulsa, Vegas, Miami — and, always, Tulum.
Now we're getting married back where the "yes" started.

— Travel —
Bigger airport. More routes. More options.
Newer. Closer. Fewer routes — book early.
Rental car
For more freedom and side trips. Rental cars are a great choice for guests who want more flexibility to explore the area — the property is tucked away in a quieter part of Tankah Bay with fewer destinations within walking distance. Patricia and Jamall will be renting a car too. Feel free to team up with other guests to share the cost.
Heads up — mandatory Mexican liability insurance is rarely included in advertised rates, which is usually what bumps the actual price up.
Bespoke concierge transfer
Private transfers arranged through Bespoke's concierge — verified drivers meet you at arrivals and take you straight to the property. Three vehicle options depending on group size. To book, contact the Bespoke concierge team with your flight info and a phone number.
Suburban includes Wi-Fi, drinks, snacks, and insurance — paid by card upfront. SUV/Van paid cash to driver. Round trips available. Book at least 24 hours before arrival.
The fine print
Passport must be valid for 6+ months past travel. Travel insurance strongly recommended — October is the tail end of hurricane season. If the worst happens, we move indoors at the venue and figure the rest out together.

— The Accommodations —
Some of our favorite memories happen in the quiet moments — slow mornings, long dinners, the people you actually care about within arm's reach. We wanted three days of that.
So we reserved every residence at Bespoke Tulum for the weekend. No strangers wandering through. No other weddings on the calendar. No conference downstairs. Just us.
The villas run 1,500 to 3,300 square feet — on par with the average American house. Many are two-story residences with rooftop plunge pools, private balconies, and ocean views. Inside: private terraces, full kitchens, elegant shared living spaces, and a private bathroom for every bedroom.
The property sits on Tankah Bay with a private beach, infinity pool, and an on-site bar and restaurant. Snorkeling and kayaking are off the dock; cenotes and Mayan ruins are a short drive.
What's included
$350–500
Per person · whole weekend
Total for the full 3-night stay. Varies slightly by villa and how many share it.

Booking approach
No third-party sites — we handle every reservation directly. Early RSVPs greatly appreciated.
— Saturday —
We're not herding anyone. Saturday is for you. Here's what we're doing, and here's what we recommend.

A cenote club hidden in the Mayan jungle — crystal-clear swim hole, daybeds at the water's edge, DJ above, farm-to-table kitchen below. We're booking the place out for the afternoon, our treat. Bring a swimsuit; we'll handle the rest.

The walled Mayan city perched on cliffs above the Caribbean — stone temples, iguanas everywhere, ocean breeze. Late afternoon is best: golden light, fewer crowds, and a breeze off the water. Bring a hat. ~$60/pp.

Tulum's beachfront strip — boutique hotels, beach clubs, boho shops, palapas. Walk the beach, post up at a club for the day, eat well, swim, repeat. The Tulum aesthetic in its natural habitat.

13 food trucks, live music, casual evening vibe. No reservation needed. Pizza, arepas, tacos.
— The Vibe —
Bohemian everything. We didn't pick Tulum for the wedding — we picked the wedding for Tulum.
